Home Made Bees Nest

Start by collecting a few drinking straws.

Cut the straws in half and bundle them up (I used rubber bands). I've binded them on some old tree stump that I found in my garden to have a more natural look but you can just hang the straws as is.

A more closer look.

Harvest of the Day: Broccoli

Sandra Lee of the show "Semi Home Made" on Food Network was showing this morning how to make Lemon Garlic Broccoli. It look so yummy, trust me. Anyways, I took some of the florets that were growing wildly on my broccoli and will try make it. Click here for the recipe.

Sunflower that is almost to bloom. I have it planted in those big black plastic containers. I dont't know how tall it's going to be but I'm sure it'll have pretty big flowers.

And this one that I started from seeds. It is growing on the ground. They're about 3 feet tall now and most of them are flowering. Won't grow as big as the first one.

Spring is Almost Here!

Most of my plants in the garden are in full bloom. This one is a plum tree.

Yes, just eight harvested today from my dwarf (about 7-8 ft.) avocado tree. This is the remaining fruits from last year's. The tree is starting to flower again and hopefully I'll have more this year. This one has the rough-textured skin. I'm not sure what kind these are. Maybe you know?

I've heard that to ripen them fast is to store them in paper bag with ripe bananas. Will try.

Beware of this Scam!

So I was checking my email earlier and found this. I've seen a couple of people fooled by this kind of emails as shown on ABC's 20/20 investigative shows. Just delete/ignore/add them to your SPAM list. And hopefully they don't bother you again.

Greeting to you,

I am DR Ibrahim Abdulahi from the northern part of burkina faso.I want to seek your assistance after my discovery during auditing in my bank as am the manager of Bill and Exchange at the Foriegn Remittance Department of Africa Development Bank,(A.D.B.) In my department we discovered an abandoned sum of USD$20.8million US dollars in an account that belongs to one of our foreign customers who died along with his entire family in plane Crashes of September 11, 2001,

Since his death, we have been expecting his next of Kin to come over and claim his money because we can not release it unless somebody applies for it as next of Kin or relation to the deceased as indicated in our banking and financial policies but unfortunately all the efforts proved abortive. IT is therefore upon this discovery that I decided as the head of my department to make this business proposal to you and release the money to you as the next of kin or relation to the deceased for safety and subsequent disbursement since nobody is coming for it and we don't want this money to go into the Bank treasury as unclaimed bills.

Do not view this as been illegal but an opportunity for us to help enrich our hope in life instead of the bank converting this much money to the security funds. You should not nurse any atom of fear as all required arrangements have been made for the smooth transfer of this funds and your acceptance is what will crown this effort. We will conclude this operation within 14 banking days based on the amount of coperation you will contribute.

Thank you for your undrstanding as await your urgent response to enable me give you more details.

Remain bless.

DR Ibrahim Abdulahi

What's for Dinner?

Cool Slideshows

I waited too long before I harvested the main head of my broccolis. It is best to harvest them when the flower buds are still tighly closed. Cut the main stem about 6 inches below the top. You can see the secondary flowets and these will grow bigger after the main head has been cut. I will harvest these in the following weeks.

This will be for dinner...YUM-O!
