I found him early this morning while walking my two babies. He ran towards me and was very happy to see us. I could read into his eyes, "Please help me find my parents!" He has no collar, no microchip (took him to Petco). I'm afraid if we send him to the Animal Humane Society that they'll put him down. A "Found Dog" sign is also a good idea but I really don't trust the people around here. Help me find the rightful owners!

What A Beetle!

I've seen a couple of these beetles when I had my plum tree bearing fruits. I think that they were attracted to the fruits.
Now that there are no more plums, they're going after my tomatoes. Anybody know what this bettle is? Are they beneficial? Don't know how to get rid of them the "organic" way.

Attack Of the Shrooms!

Are they the poisonous kind?
What kind, do you know?
Have to pull them out before my dogs eat them.

How To Propagate Hydrangeas

Take softwood cuttings from spring to early summer. (Hardwood cuttings during the winter.)
Remove leaves at the base and tip and cut across in half the remaining leaves.
Insert the cuttings in pots with a mixture of peat-free compost and perlite or vermiculite. Water well.
Not sure what made my hydrageas turn "green". Color has something to do with the soil's pH. A few were pinkish.

These are okra pods that I left to dry completely on the stalk and then cut it with pruning shears.
I was able to get 27 seeds from this one pod.

How to Propagate Begonias

1. Choose healthy mature leaves. 2. Cut the edges of the leaves. 3. Make 2-3 wedge-shaped cuttings. 4. Plant them in pots and water them for a few weeks. Watch for new plants on leaf cuttings.
