Seed Saving: Avocado

This is not just an ordinary avocado. I got this from an Asian supermarket and it's marked "Bangkok avocado". It is huge - it probably weighs more than a pound.
It's skin is part smooth, part rough.
Here is a comparison with a "regular" avocado that you get from stores. The small avocado is not from my tree. Mine bears smaller fruits compared to this one.
Cut the fruit at the center and make sure you don't cut it all the way through or you'll injure the seed.
Look at that seed, it's huge! I usually wash it with water, pat it dry with paper towel or dry it under the sun for a day or two. Then I store it in paper bags. By spring or summer, it'll be ready.

This avocado is so meaty - equivalent to like five regular-sized avocados!
